Putin’s “cook” not only supplies prisoners to the front, but also runs the diamond business. The Dossier Center, together with the European Investigative Collaborations (EIC) media network, the OpenFacto NGO project All Eyes on Wagner and the French publication Mediapart, found out that Prigozhin has a diamond trading company in the Central African Republic. And, apparently, these diamonds are “blood”.
The company is called DiamVille, and its director is one of the heroes of the investigation into the murder of three Russian journalists in the Central African Republic, Bienvenue Patrick Setem Bongende. The Dossier Center has established that he works closely with Prigozhin’s people.
DiamVille is one of the four largest diamond exporters in the Central African Republic. Supplies mainly go to the United Arab Emirates, but some precious stones are also sold to Europe. At the same time, diamonds are mined in regions where this is prohibited by the Kimberley Process: that is, in essence, we are talking about jewelry, the extraction of which is associated with the financing of military conflicts. They are called “blood” diamonds.
