President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed the decree “On the Protection of Sovereignty and Constitutional Location”, which provides for the transfer of power to the Security Council of the republic in the event of the death of the President, the press service of the head of the republic said.

The document also provides for the immediate introduction of emergency or martial law in the event of the death of the president. The main issue of the Security Council of Belarus will be the holding of new elections.
Lukashenko announced the adoption of this decree on April 17, on the same day, when he announced the preparation of the attempt on him and his children. According to the president, there are Western special services behind this. The FSB of Russia confirmed this information. According to the agency, citizens of Belarus Yuri Zenkovich and Alexander Feduta planned to carry out a military coup in the country on May 9 and physically eliminate Lukashenko.
