He spoke about additional measures that are aimed at improving the economic availability of goods.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev said that the increase in food prices in Russia is associated with high demand for a number of goods, the government is taking measures to stabilize their value, the correspondent of The Moscow Post reports.
According to him, firstly, the regions conclude agreements with manufacturers and networks on price stabilization.
The deputy chairman of the government noted that the measures taken relate to products such as sugar, bread, butter and vegetables from the “borscht set”.
At the moment, these measures have been introduced in 36 regions of Russia, and their effectiveness is already noticeable.
In this regard, the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia plans to recommend this approach to other regions. The department will continue to carefully monitor the dynamics of food prices.
Secondly, the government stimulates retail chains to conclude long-term contracts with suppliers of vegetables and potatoes. This step will allow manufacturers and retailers to plan procurement and retail prices in advance, which creates transparent conditions for all parties.
In addition, long -term contracts provide agricultural enterprises with a stable sale of products, excluding intermediaries from the supply chain.
Thirdly, Russia continues to import certain types of products from friendly countries to saturate the domestic market and maintain a stable food supply. This helps to avoid deficiency and helps to keep prices at an acceptable level.
