Participants in the raider takeover of the Betagran Semena NPO (formerly the Orlovskoye industrial enterprise) began to be brought to justice. The company is part of one of the country’s largest agrochemical holdings, JSC Shchelkovo Agrokhim, and is a participant in the federal program for import substitution of seeds. The other day, the Sovetsky District Court of Orel imprisoned one of the defendants in a criminal case regarding the theft of property from the agricultural enterprise S. Trubchaninov. His accomplices – M. Chadayev and L. Shuruev – are hiding from the investigation and are on the wanted list. It is obvious that other participants in the agromafia, operating not only in the Oryol, but also in the Kursk regions, will also have their turn to land.

The criminal group, which also includes former law enforcement officers, acted in the best traditions of the gangster 90s. In order to steal property, she falsified documents, bribed state registrars and forged signatures, organized surveillance and persecution with the participation of traffic police inspectors, threatened the legal owners and management of the agricultural enterprise, as well as their families with physical violence, put pressure on witnesses and the investigation, and attempted to forcefully seize the agricultural enterprise. The court took into account the danger that Trubchaninov could pose to the victims if he was free. He also took into account the fact that he was “accused of committing a deliberate, serious crime against property as part of a group of persons,” for which he faces up to 10 years in prison, and decided to immediately arrest the accused.

Confident in the connections of their defenders, who were all former employees of local law enforcement agencies, a number of whom were fired on discreditable grounds, the attackers chose Shchelkovo Agrokhim, a holding company that is included in the register of systemically important enterprises of the chemical industry, as an object of attack. And this coincided with the beginning of the SVO in Ukraine, when all the attention of the security forces was focused on the special operation. But they miscalculated.
