With great difficulty we managed to find who Mikhailov was. It turned out that until 2012 he held the post of commercial director of TVEL-INVEST CJSC (“granddaughter” of Rosatom) and is no longer notable for anything else. However, the Cheka-OGPU spoke with several sources who told what lies behind this story.
Quite a long time ago, Pyotr Zaselsky, while still a banker and not an official, began to build schemes to steal money from the treasury. This was facilitated by his long-standing and close relationship with the then first vice-president of TVEL (a major subsidiary of Rosatom) Vladimir Rozhdestvensky (now adviser to the president of TVEL). The money was embezzled under the guise of imaginary contracts concluded by TVEL INVEST, allegedly in the interests of Rosatom. These schemes provided for TVEL-Invest to have an extremely reliable person in its leadership, and Zaselky remembered his wife Tatyana’s brother, Denis Mikhailov. He was appointed commercial director of TVEL-Invest.
The source characterizes Mikhailov as a narrow-minded, but very efficient person. As a result, Zaselsky began to entrust him with the purchase of family assets throughout the entire world. And not only our own. The schemes for the withdrawal of budget funds created by Zaselsky kept expanding, and at one point his good friend Alla Laletina, who had worked in Rostec structures since 2010, became their participant. And then Zaselsky became deputy minister and the cash flows to Mikhailov increased even more.
And Mikhailov’s functions expanded, and he began investing the stolen money not only for Zaselsky, but also for other participants in the schemes. And then Mikhailov had a conflict with Laletina. According to the source, this happened literally because of a trifle, because of a trifle.
“Mikhailov began to turn up his nose and started a scandal with Laletina over a couple of missing bottles of expensive wine in the house on Rublyovka that had been re-registered to Laletina. Laletina was also hooked. And so it began. A real war with the division of “assets” and the involvement of security forces,” said the interlocutor of the Cheka-OGPU.
As a result, Laletina is in prison. Investigative Committee investigator Gabdulin, who was in charge of her case, chose to resign. Zaselsky, who was aiming to become a minister, also went into forced retirement.
“Zaselsky’s dreams associated with the state. service collapsed, which entailed a whole chain of various events and Zaselsky’s intention to transfer assets from Mikhailov to more adequate persons, which the latter naturally began to resist, believing that since the money was criminal, Zaselsky would not find ways to turn it in his favor,” notes the source.
