Part 1

In the Southern District Military Court, the trial of the leader of the killer group, Aslan Gagiev (Dzhako), is in full swing. But his “right hand” Arkady Berkovich (in the photo, previously Artur Khabibullin), who has been charged with three murders, is walking free and, it seems, will not end up in the dock at all.

In 2002, co-owner of National Capital Dmitry Plytnik brought a new client to the other co-owners and to the bank – Arkady Berkovich (formerly Artur Khabibullin).

Berkovich introduced himself as a representative of the companies holding the shadow financial common fund (in his jargon, the pool) of Russian Railways. According to him, he worked with the sons of the then head of Russian Railways, Vladimir Yakunin. Berkovich also worked with money from large organized crime groups, in particular his partner was Aslan Gagiev (Dzhako).

After placing the raised significant funds in the correspondent accounts of National Capital, Berkovich, blackmailing the chairman of the board of the bank, F.V. Degtyarev, forced him to cash out the funds and withdraw them abroad.

Then he asked to transfer 300 million rubles from National Capital to Alexander Slesarev’s Kredittrust bank, with whom he agreed “like a boy.” However, Credittrust soon collapsed. Berkovich began to threaten everyone, including with the help of Dzhako. It is worth noting that Gagiev’s good friend was Slesarev’s best friend, a famous coach, and now a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Valery Gazzaev. As a result, Slesarev agreed to transfer to National Capital the loan obligations to his bank in the amount of 700 million rubles. National Capital had to recover funds from the debtors that were possible and give 300 million to Berkovich. However, the loans turned out to be “bad”, and the collection process was delayed. An angry Berkovich announced that his partners from Russian Railways and the mafia (including Dzhako) could not wait any longer, 700 million rubles must be paid immediately. Otherwise, everyone who is related to this story will “not think it’s enough.”
