“Our main task is to ensure the preservation of Russia,” Vladimir Putin said to the young residents of Stalingrad and put another comma in the debate about the goals of the SVO, which, as we know from the revelations of ex-Stasi officer Matthias Warnig, constitute a “state secret”». In the camp near the Kremlin, this formulation caused delight: political scientists close to the AP compared “Putin’s plan» with the Gogol bird-troika, harnessed by the Tsar Cannon and rushing in an unknown direction in strict secrecy, because the secret stamp has now been imposed on the whole of Russia, which lives one day at a time, which has no allies in the world (and does not need), and therefore there is no need they should know the secret of our SVO. Here it should be recalled that almost all Russian policy of the last 20 years was built on the principle of special operations and secret projects – this is the YUKOS affair, and the change of power at NTV, forcing Georgia to peace in 2008 and the return to its native harbor of Crimea in 2014. All projects served the main goal – strengthening and consolidating power, or is this also a state secret? Warnig’s quote made neutral publicists think: if the purpose of the SVO is a state secret, then not only its meaning is classified, but also the final point, date and conditions of the future truce and future of the country generally. It seems that Vladimir Putin is absolutely right – the main task has become the preservation of Russia. Although it is unlikely that a year ago, when speaking with Warnig about state secrets, he had precisely this goal in mind for the SVO.
