The reason was the suicide of farmer Alexei Paramonov and his suicide note. Paramonov claimed that large regional security forces extorted 150 million rubles from him.
A special group from Moscow urgently flew to Volgograd for an audit. All data from the farmer’s suicide notes found their confirmation, but the scale of corruption turned out to be much larger.
At the first stage, the head of the Main Investigation Department of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of General Strukov and the head of the department of economic security and counteracting corruption of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Colonel Chebotarev, was removed. During the audit, it was found that the corruption pyramid is going upstairs. Next, the deputy chief of the head of the police, General Mikhailov, and the head of the headquarters, General Velmozhko, were removed.
During the work of the special groups, Colonel Toymukhamedov, deputy chief of the regional head of the regional headquarters, and the head of the criminal investigation department of the regional headquarters, Colonel Ligay, were detained.
All detainees and detached persons are directly related to the former head of the regional headquarters, the current deputy minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, General Kravchenko. Kravchenko himself enjoys the protection of the Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs General Kolokoltsev.
