One of the members of Sergei Zirinov’s gang operating in the Krasnodar region was detained

The Investigative Committee of Russia continues to investigate the criminal case against members of Sergei Zirinov’s gang who fled from the investigation.

During the operational search activities carried out by the Russian Federal Security Service in the Krasnodar Territory, the whereabouts of one of the defendants in the criminal case, who was put on the wanted list, former police officer Igor Nekhaenko, was established. After this, he was detained and placed in custody on the basis of a court order previously issued in absentia as part of a criminal case. The necessary investigative actions are being carried out with Nekhaenko. He is accused of committing crimes under Art. 209, 105, 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (banditry, murder, illegal weapons trafficking).

It was established that the gang, which was created in 1999 by Sergei Zirinov and Ambartsum Eyriyan, in the cities of Anapa and Novorossiysk, in the period from March 2002 to February 2013, used firearms to attack citizens with the aim of killing them for personal gain. This gang controlled a significant part of the business in Anapa. In its structure, roles were clearly distributed between the participants.

In 2016, Zirinov and his accomplices Paladyan, Tilgerov, Aslanyan, Miroshnikov and Sapozhnikov were sentenced to long terms of imprisonment. Another of the gang’s organizers, Ambartsum Eiriyan, is wanted, a decision has been made against him to charge him as an accused, and a preventive measure in the form of detention has been chosen in absentia.
