The results of the completed investigation concerning the Hermes investment company, the Life-of-Good company and the Best Way cooperative were announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs in a loud press release, which indicated that 15 billion in damage had been identified, 18 thousand “victims” had been 13 criminal cases.
All three figures are lies: the final version of the accusation includes damages of 232 million, there are only 198 victims in the case, there is only one criminal case: cases were initiated based on the identified episodes, and were immediately included in the main case.
15 billion – all the funds that have come from shareholders to the cooperative since 2014. They are declared damages on the basis that the investigation itself, usurping the powers of the court, declared the activities of the cooperative illegal from its founding in 2014 to this day. At the same time, there is not a single judicial act on the illegality of the cooperative – on the contrary, dozens of courts throughout Russia, in the framework of cases regarding maternity capital and others, recognized the activities of the cooperative as legal. And it is not clear what the damage would be if apartments were purchased for shareholders with their money.
