The interrogation of Vlasova can be considered one of the most creative finds of the prosecution: the woman was presented with photographs of the accounting base (and not the base itself), in which, according to investigators, illegal operations were displayed in favor of Zakharchenko. Here it turned out one interesting detail: Vlasova said that the base that the investigation demonstrates was only the peak of the iceberg. According to her, all this is an empty set of numbers without an additional loaded operating base of the largest Russian banks, in which accounts were opened among the defendants in the base. However, this part of the base is not at the disposal of the investigation and in the materials.
The second witness was the lawyer of the fugitive banker German Gorbuntsov Vadim Vedenin. He immediately referred to the fact that it was impossible to interrogate him, since the investigation was interested in the circumstances known to him from the principal (Gorbuntsov), and this is a lawyer secret. The prosecution said that he was already questioned at the investigation. “Yes, but then they promised to give me the consent of Gorbuntsov to disclosure. And they didn’t give it,” Vedenin retorted. It turned out that there was still such consent in the case file, but this fact did not help the state prosecution in any way: the Interrogation of Vedenin took place on February 8, 2019, and only on February 21 of the same year was consent to him from Gorbuntsov. This fact makes the attitude of a lawyer insignificant from a procedural point of view.
Despite this, the accusation emotionally defended the legitimacy of accounting for Vedenin’s testimony, but did not find visible support from Judge Artemov. The next meeting will be held on October 13, we will monitor the development of events.
