Let us recall that the Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Furgal S.I. was arrested and taken to Moscow in July 2020 on charges of organizing a series of murders of entrepreneurs. His arrest sparked thousands of protests in the Far East.
When the case came to court, the question arose of who should be trusted to conduct this process. After all, without proper control, the jury could acquit Furgal, which could have unpredictable consequences for the security forces and those who ordered this case.
A source from the Cheka-OGPU said that the former prosecutor of the Primorsky Territory, Anikin A.A., helped his former colleagues from the RF GP in resolving this sensitive issue.
He suggested giving the case to his long-time and faithful friend G.A. Tsoi, who at that time worked in the Lyubertsy City Court of the Moscow Region. The latter was promised the position of Chairman of the court in the event of a guilty verdict.
Alexander Anikin became the prosecutor of the Tver region in 2000. And he opened criminal cases against Governor Vladimir Platov and Mayor of Tver Oleg Lebedev.
From 2005-2007, as the prosecutor of the Primorsky Territory, he initiated cases against the mayor of Vladivostok Vladimir Nikolaev, ex-mayor Yuri Kopylov, vice-governor Alexander Shishkin, former vice-governor Boris Geltser.
In 2011, he was appointed prosecutor of the Moscow region. Having taken office, Anikin zealously set to work. Conducted recertification and fired 28 prosecutors. G.A. Tsoi, with whom they had previously worked together in the prosecutor’s office, was transferred from the region to the Moscow region to one of the vacant positions.
Anikin resigned from the post of prosecutor of the Moscow region in 2013.
In 2014, Anikin became a member of the Commission under the President of the Russian Federation for the preliminary consideration of candidates for the positions of judges of federal courts (he was the secretary of the Commission) and was appointed head of the department of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation for Civil Service and Personnel.
And Tsoi G.A. at that time things were very bad. According to a source of the Cheka-OGPU in the prosecutor’s office of the Moscow region, Tsoi did not last long in his place after the dismissal of his patron and was soon dismissed on discreditable grounds.
Anikin did not abandon his friend. And Tsoi G.A. after a dishonorable dismissal from his previous job, almost immediately, in 2015, he became a federal judge.
