On November 7, the Central District Military Court considered a petition to change jurisdiction in the case of now former employees of the FSB Directorate for the Samara Region, Mikhail Gorbunov and Ivan Gudkov. According to sources of the Cheka-OGPU, the accused themselves hoped to transfer the case to Samara, where they have extensive connections. Gudkov literally became infected with the idea of “litigating at home,” which was approved by his high-status cellmates in the Medved pre-trial detention center.

However, one of the deputies of the FSB of the Russian Federation petitioned for the case to be considered in Moscow, in the 2nd Western District Military Court.

As a result, the Central District Military Court decided to send the case to Moscow.

It is interesting that if Lieutenant Colonel Gorbunov participated in the meeting on the military conflict from a pre-trial detention center, then the ex-operative of the personal security service, Captain Gudkov, came to the Samara presence of the district court on his own feet – he is only under a written undertaking not to leave. An amazing luxury, considering that he faces 15-20 years in prison on four counts of corruption.

A year ago, he was released from the pre-trial detention center as part of a pre-trial agreement, but immediately after his release he “jumped off” and renounced his previous testimony. Despite this, he has not yet returned to the pre-trial detention center.

But the most interesting thing is that Gudkov’s family connections allow him not to be a passive accused and defendant. Thus, his wife is an active FSB officer and played an important role in Gudkov’s refusal to cooperate with the investigation.

In addition, it turns out that Gudkov also has a much more influential relative – retired FSB general Vyacheslav Kadyaev. His weight in the system is evidenced by the fact that he was the first head of the FSB Directorate for Chechnya. Since he does not have children of his own, his nephew Gudkov is close to him, and the retired counterintelligence officer, according to sources, could not refuse him help.
