On December 10, the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Roman Plugin, signed an order to punish 18 employees of the Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption (UEB). According to media reports, the document begins with the head of this unit – Colonel Ulyanov, then there are his two deputies – Colonels Smirnov and Kuzyaev, and then 15 senior officers – heads of departments and their deputies.

Evgeniy Ulyanov received a “severe reprimand” with a record, and the rest (and two deputies) received the maximum punishment. It is called “incomplete official compliance”. That is, until such a penalty is lifted, any misconduct is actually equivalent to dismissal.

As the Cheka-OGPU previously reported, at the meeting, Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev reprimanded Plugin for the activities of the UBEP, after which a large-scale commission arrived in St. Petersburg to check. We also published a document about this audit.
