On August 2, the Moscow City Court will consider an appeal against the verdict of developer Albert Khudoyan. He was given 6 years for major fraud during the construction of the elite Prime Park residential complex. The Prosecutor General’s Office requests that the term be increased to 9 years.
Regardless of the decision, Khudoyan’s prospects are bleak. He has three other cases under his belt: bribery and fraud, including theft of shares in Volgogradka Mall LLC.
Previously, Khudoyan’s attempt to evade punishment ended in a criminal case for three security officials. After the businessman was released from the pre-trial detention center and the arrests on his property were lifted, an investigator and two generals of the SD of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were taken into custody. The investigation is checking information about the transfer of a bribe to them through the famous lawyer Gennady Udunyan.
Oddly enough, Khudoyan’s lawyer, Gennady Udunyan, followed the example of his client and also took the path of constant violations of the law.
In particular, the controversial lawyer Gennady Udunyan, who helped the developer get out of custody at the beginning of the investigation, himself became involved in a criminal case for rowdy behavior at the La Maree restaurant on Malaya Gruzinskaya Street. Video footage from the scene shows a half-naked Udunyan waving a pistol from a Rolls Royce car with HAM license plates. The rowdy aimed at the restaurant’s visitors and security guards.
