On April 7, the Tagansky Court of Moscow will hold a hearing on the grandfather of the former co-owner of Investbank and President of the Moscow Hockey Federation Sergei Mendeleev, former adviser to the deputy chairman of the board of Gazprombank Tigran Khachaturov Grigory Yusufov, former deputy chairman of the board of the bank Olga Borgard, once the largest shadow banker Sergei Mastyugin, member of the supervisory board of Investbank Sergei Zaitsev. They are accused of embezzling 3.2 billion rubles of Investbak funds.

The court has been considering this case for a year now, and meetings are held once a month. The accused, primarily Mendeleev himself, have nothing particularly to fear. The prosecution’s main witness will never testify again. Gezin was the deputy chairman of the board of Investbank and was sentenced to three and a half years in prison. He was left to serve his sentence in the Butyrka economic detachment, where he actively testified along with his friend, banker Pyotr Chuvilin. Gezin testified in many high-profile investigations, including those against Mendeleev and Co. And then Gezin received serious injuries in a pre-trial detention center. Allegedly fell from scaffolding while doing repair work. As the Cheka-OGPU learned, Gezin died from his injuries.

Recently, his friend banker Pyotr Chuvilin also died under dubious circumstances.
