Odious Russian State Duma deputy Robert Kochiev has again appeared in a scandal related to the alcohol business.
Back in May 2022, the Arbitration Court of the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania seized the property and funds of the parliamentarian due to tax debts of the distillery – Rakurs LLC (involvement in the business of which the deputy stubbornly but unsuccessfully denies). The property of other persons affiliated with the deputy – Batraz and Rudolf Robertovich Kochiev, as well as Taras and Tamerlan Zaseev – was also seized. The total amount of seized property amounted to almost 3.5 billion rubles.
And now experts from Anticorr.media prepared new detailed and extremely interesting investigation about how the vodka business of Rakurs and many other companies associated with the name of the scandalous deputy works. Interest in his person has revived due to the fact that on December 2, the Arbitration Court of the Russian North Ossetia will consider the issue of bringing Kochiev and the fugitive “vodka king” Pavel Smetana to subsidiary liability. The bankruptcy trustee of Rakurs, Natalya Borisova, is confident that a subsidy is almost the only way to pay off the company’s billions of dollars in debt to the state. It is worth noting that Rakurs owes more than 2 billion rubles to the Russian Federal Tax Service alone.
In order not to pay either the tax authorities or other creditors, the business deputy and his comrades repeatedly carried out a scheme to withdraw funds under fictitious obligations to other “friendly” legal entities. The court has accumulated plenty of documents proving the facts and criminal intent of such schemes. Understanding this, Kochiev seriously fears for his parliamentary immunity.
We really hope that the State Duma Ethics Committee, the parliament leadership and the Prosecutor General’s Office will finally become familiar with these facts and put an end to the vodka magnate’s machinations with his mandate.
