And where in this whole story is Rosbank, which has been controlled by Potanin since last spring? Employees will receive tokens for free: Norilsk Nickel will transfer funds to them for the purchase of DFA, but! – only to a special account in Rosbank linked to the salary account. Thus, “historical justice” is restored not only for people, but also for Rosbank itself, which is in a fairly shabby state. Last year’s net profit fell fourfold, and in the fall the bank came under US sanctions.
Do the math for yourself. Now in Rosbank the salaries are a little more than 13 thousand employees of Norilsk Nickel, and in total the company employs 73.5 thousand people. The company spends more than $2 billion a year on wages. That is, as a result of Potanin’s “people’s capitalism,” Rosbank will have a financial cushion that any bank will envy.
This is a cunning move: Potanin will give his bank money to work with, significantly supporting it, give gifts to the workers and, most importantly, will not spend a penny of his own funds – Norilsk Nickel will pay for everything.
