The main interested parties in this case are operational employees of the regional FSB Directorate, who over the past year have been trying to agree with Akhmetov to work “together”, and to strengthen their arguments, they sent unambiguous hints to him through the local media in the form of impartial custom publications. One of them, on condition of anonymity, shared with us that last week he was treated harshly by operatives, demanding to testify against Akhmetov. He recorded all the conversations on a tape recorder and intends to give it wide publicity if the pressure on their part does not stop. In his opinion, if this situation is now slowed down, it will be very difficult for business in the region, because local “protection racketeers” from the special services will finally feel their complete freedom to create any lawlessness in the region.
