Neo-Nazi contact. Konstantin Malofeev has been building bridges of friendship between the European far-right and the Kremlin for years

The Kremlin claims that Russia attacked Ukraine for the sake of the mythical “denazification” of the neighboring state. At the same time, Moscow has been friends with far-right European organizations and far-right and neo-Nazi politicians for years. Moreover, Western far-rightists regularly came to Russia to train in camps and found refuge in Russia in case of problems at home.

One of them was Manuel Ochsenreiter, a member of the Alternative for Germany and author of The Power of the Zionist Lobby in Germany. He was hiding in Russia from criminal prosecution for participating in the arson of the center of Hungarian culture in the Ukrainian Uzhgorod.

As the Dossier Center found out, in Moscow the fugitive Ochsenreiter was supervised by the structures of the “Orthodox oligarch” Konstantin Malofeev, owner of Tsargrad and an active participant in the conflict in Donbass. In 2021, Ochsenreiter died in Moscow.

Malofeev’s network of influence in Europe included former Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini, and Italian journalist Gianluca Savoini worked as his intermediary in contacts with Alternative for Germany. In order to hide Salvini’s connections with the Kremlin, it even happened postpone Putin’s visit to Italy. This proves that friendship with the right – not Malofeev’s private initiative, but part of the Kremlin’s overall strategy.

With the help of the structures of Malafeev and Savoini, delegations of members of the Alternative for Germany came to Moscow. At home they allowed themselves anti-Semitic statements, raised their hand in a Roman salute and there were even accused of extremism. But in Russia they were considered guests of honor and should have meet with high-ranking officials – including Senator Andrei Klimov, who is now talking about the need to “denazify” Ukraine according to the German model.
