We are publishing a transcript of the interrogation of ex-deputy mayor of Novokuznetsk Alexander Popov, suspected of murdering his wife.
The official confessed to the murder of his wife “Miss Kuzbass 2010” Ksenia Popova (Sapozhkova). Yesterday, police found the body of a girl in New Moscow, not far from the Anderson residential complex. From this interrogation it follows that the wife informed her husband about plans to go to work part-time in the UAE, he forbade her and a conflict began. Then Popov pushed his wife, she fell and hit the door handle, after which she died. Let us note that a few days before this interrogation, the suspect told investigators another motive for the murder, which the Cheka-OGPU wrote about in detail earlier. Law enforcement officers will now determine which version is real.
Transcript of the interrogation: “I give the explanation voluntarily, without any pressure from the police officers. I feel good, I’m not registered with the PND or ND.
Regarding the essence of the questions asked to me, I can explain that I live at the registration address together with my wife Popova Ksenia Olegovna, born 09/03/1991, and daughter Popova Yesenia Alexandrovna, born 02/19/2016.
On August 31, 2021, I was at the address Moscow, st. Nils Bohr <...> (the apartment was rented) together with his wife and daughter, at approximately 13 o’clock my wife Popova K.O. she told me that she was going to go to the UAE with her friend (I don’t know) for vacation and part-time work for a period of 3-4 weeks, as a result of which we had a conflict. During the quarrel, I pushed my wife K.O. Popova. hand in the chest, after which she fell and hit her head on the metal doorknob, when I approached my wife, she showed no signs of life, after which I moved the body to the bathroom, returned to my daughter’s bedroom, collected her things and took her to a rented apartment acquaintance Ilya Borisovich Savateev for two days. Returning home, I went into the bathroom where my wife’s body lay and, fearing the consequences, decided to dismember the body and throw it in a trash container and the river. I dissected the body with a saw and a hammer, started with the arms and legs (divided the arms and legs into two parts), then cut out the insides, then cut off the head, I put each part of the body in a separate black bag (there were 20 bags in total). I threw 2-3 bags with entrails and hands into a trash container located near the house, I threw the rest of the bags into the river, having previously tied stones to them.
Returning home around 3 a.m., I cleaned the blood from the bathroom with cold water and Pemolux, and then went to bed. On September 1, I woke up and began to collect my daughter’s things to take her to my parents in Novokuznetsk, at the same time I began to correspond via Instagram from my wife’s account with her mother, as well as via Instagram from my wife’s account wrote to myself. On September 2, I went to see my daughter, we went to the zoo with her, after which I took her back to a friend’s rented apartment and went home to collect the remaining things. On September 3, I took my daughter and took her to my parents, we agreed to meet in Chelyabinsk, after I gave my daughter away, I returned back to Moscow.
All this time I corresponded from my wife’s account with her mother. In December, my wife’s mother called me and said that I needed to start looking for Popova K.O. because she has suspicions that something happened to her. On December 18, 2021, I contacted the police department in the Obruchevsky district with a statement about my missing wife. I have nothing more to explain than this fact.
I repent of what I did and admit my guilt.”
