Members of the judging community of Chekhov near Moscow came up with an interesting way to earn money. The facts, which will undoubtedly form the basis for an audit of law enforcement agencies, are reminiscent of the times of Soviet punitive psychiatry.

It turned out that mobile court hearings held in a closed psychiatric hospital are heard with the utmost formalism. At these visits there is often no appointed lawyer. For reference, at such events the defender receives budget money. One review – 20 thousand rubles.
On the fourth of May, judge of the Chekhov City Court Olga Myadyuta held 22 on-site hearings at GBU3 MO “MOPB im. V.I. Yakovenko” (Meshcherskoye) on issues of extension or termination of compulsory medical measures. By the way, last year a Moscow resident convicted of murder escaped from a similar hospital located nearby.

On the eve of the departure, Myadyuta sent a request to the call center of the Moscow Region Bar Association for the provision of an assigned defense attorney. The application was distributed to Myadyuta’s friend, lawyer Svetlana Tsvirko.

Surprisingly, that day the lawyer was present in the Chekhov court in another trial and could not defend the psychos in any way.

Judge Myadyuta, who arrived at the hospital in company with prosecutor Fedorova, formalized Tsvirko’s participation. The logic is simple – the defendants are insane anyway, whoever asks them, they can’t tell a lawyer from a nurse, and a penny from the budget will not pass by. The amount is small, but penny by penny adds up to a billion.
