Medvedev’s favorite director escaped arrest

Zakharchenko assured that he was “taken” after running over the unsinkable Makarevich

The media splash about the latest departure of Anatoly Chubais from yet another post reminded us of the whirlwind of fate surrounding the sweet assets of Elektrozavod, which is now sold under the international brand ERSO, and whose board of directors the aforementioned top official left before leaving the country.

The electric plant was launched almost a hundred years ago, Nikita Khrushchev’s wife worked there for longer than five years, and in the mid-1990s the “red director” Leonid Makarevich began buying up its shares and building an empire. The enterprise received the support of Mayor Luzhkov, and in the mid-2000s, Elena Baturina’s company Inteko received the sweet land of the plant on the banks of the Yauza for housing development. By the way, Makarevich and Baturina graduated from the same university.

After Luzhkov’s resignation, Makarevich was able to build relationships with the new leadership of the capital. And not only that: Medvedev, who played open government, organized a meeting of the expert council within the walls of the Electrozavod.

“We found a good place! In any case, you understand what industrial safety problems are when you are here,” the impressionable Prime Minister said then.

The electric plant, together with FGC UES, participated in the construction of energy facilities for the 2014 Olympics in Sochi and the construction of an energy bridge in Crimea.

At some point, Colonel Zakharchenko, who oversees the energy sector, became very interested in Makarevich. They came to the businessman with a search, he greeted the guests in shorts and with a certificate from the FSB (warned is forearmed).

Then they imprisoned Zakharchenko. The operative complained in court that it was closed precisely because of Makarevich – they say that the operative’s subordinates uncovered a scheme to steal 2 billion rubles. on a contract with officials of the capital government – then even a case was opened under Part 4/Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, but then the case was closed along with the billionaire colonel.

It is interesting that then, in 2016, the head of the Federal Customs Service Andrei Belyaninov also encountered a search and problems. And a couple of years later, the now former chief customs officer, but the current chairman of the board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), Belyaninov, and the general director of the Elektrozavod Makarevich announced cooperation and sent out corresponding press releases to the media.

There were far-reaching plans. But with the advent of 2021, Makarevich lost everything, as follows from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities extract.

And so, Chubais emerges, who directs thoughts along a long chain of memories that leads us to the base of the capital’s courts. And there, in the Meshchansky Court of Moscow last week there was arrest material under Part 4/Article 159 for a person with the exact same name as the former general director of the Electrozavod – L.V. Makarevich. Thank God (or other patrons) the court did not consider these materials.
