After the appointment of Pyotr Gromushkin to the post of head of the local FSB Directorate instead of Sergei Voronin, the regional public froze in anticipation of changes.
Conscientious judges, prosecutors, entrepreneurs and officials hope that it will become possible to work according to the law in the republic.
At the forefront of the agenda are the main characters of our publications: Deputy Chief of the FSB Maxim Maksimov, his assistant Khachim Ivanov and Chief of Police Nazir Mamkhegov, already known throughout the country.
According to information from a number of telegram channels, a search was carried out in Maksimov’s office last week. Documents for expensive property and construction contracts were confiscated from the safe. This event was expected. The organizing role of Maksimov in the criminal construction business of the region was obvious and was previously covered by the Cheka-OGPU. Another thing is surprising – that the safe, which was really important for Maximov and was not in the office, but in another place known to many residents of the city, was not inspected. To properly and safely comprehend what was happening, Maksimov fled to Moscow, where he prefers the interiors of the most expensive restaurants.
Khachim Ivanov, after the arrival of the new leadership, switched to a UAZ-Patriot (we have already talked about this old trick of a “cunning” corrupt official). But it is not only this forced deprivation that spoils his mood. He fears that the day is inexorably approaching when he will have to testify about his own participation in Maksimov’s corruption schemes.
In addition, the arriving authorities can breathe life into the investigation into the murder of the director of the psychoneurological boarding school Balov, which occurred in June 2022. And the role of Khachim Ivanov in these events is so serious that its study by investigators can reveal the deepest criminal processes taking place in the republic.
And the police chief, Nazir Mamkhegov, who was “loved” by the whole country after our publications, turned out to be a Gogolian character.
Let us remember that for his insatiable corruption appetites in the republic he received the nickname “Fat”. Unable to cope with the fame that had befallen him, Mamkhegov took completely desperate steps to change his image.
But if you think that he sold his apartment in an elite area on Mosfilmovskaya in Moscow or a palace house in the center of Nalchik and donated the money to charity, then you are mistaken.
Instead, Mamkhegov underwent an expensive stomach reduction operation and lost 50 kg.
In the photo, the small, inconspicuous man on the left with the incriminating sign is him.
Will Mamkhegov’s impressive efforts reduce the level of corruption in the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs? Will the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic be able to get rid of Maximov’s corrupt yoke?
The Cheka-OGPU continues to monitor developments.
