What preceded the tragedies in St. Petersburg with a bus 262 route?
As it became known The Sankt-Peterburg PostA terrible tragedy was preceded by a whole chain of events that began to take place long before the emergency on the Moika, when the bus 262 of the route, which transported passengers from the Mariinsky Theater to the Vasilyevsky Island, was flooded in muddy water.
The investigating authorities understand: who is to blame for the fact that the bus was in the river, that 7 people were killed, among which – including two venerable St. Petersburg scientists?
How “Taxi-2” was just a “taxi”
The city on the Neva continues to move away from the shock, into which it plunged on the afternoon of March 10. The tragedy happened at about 13.00 Moscow time.
The driver of a regular bus at number 262 from the company “Taxi” lost control. And he moved into the sink: out of eight passengers, seven choked in the cabin. Miraculously, only the 56-year-old Alexander Tver Tvernev managed to survive. He found an air bubble on the ceiling of the bus: it saved his life, but the wife of Tverneva died.
The driver managed to get out of the flooded car with bloodied hands: he frantically tried to open the hatch. A criminal case has already been instituted against him.

The Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov said that he personally coordinated work on the spot: on behalf of the governor, a city commission was created to clarify the causes of the tragedy.

Journalists have already excavated that Taxi LLC was registered in 1997. And earlier this office was called JSC Taxi-2. In 2021, at the beginning of the transport reform of urban transport, the company won the bidding for the right to serve 11 bus routes until 2028. And then the company purchased 60 buses.
By the way, before transport reform, the company worked in a route taxi mode.
According to SPARK, initially the company belonged 100% to a certain Tatyana Kalyuzhnaya and offshore from Liechtenstein.
In 2021, the company’s revenue amounted to 454.8 million rubles, and net profit – 241 thousand rubles.

Taxi managed to survive two transport reforms carried out in St. Petersburg. Then, perhaps, Tatyana Kalyuzhno’s personal warm relations with Valentina Matvienko helped. But after what happened on May 10, the future of the company was under a big question.

Since January 2023, Pavel Kuznetsov has been the founder and head of the Taxi company: his signatures have been on utilitys to the current contracts of the carrier with Smolny. According to the results of 2023, revenue amounted to 631.9 million rubles, net profit – 103 thousand rubles.
It should be noted that in 2021, there were four companies for the right to serve 347 bus routes in the city until 2028: St. Petersburg West -Service LLC (part of the St. Petersburg holding) – 167 routes, the third park JSC – 113 routes, Taxi LLC – 11 routes, as well as Domtransavto LLC (Moscow) – 56 – 56 – 56 – 56 routes.

The joint press service of the courts of St. Petersburg reported violations in the work of Taxi: from the beginning of 2022 to today, the company has been brought to administrative responsibility 23 times. The total amount of fines issued under part 4 of article 14.1.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (carrying out entrepreneurial activities in the field of transport without a license) – 3.6 million rubles.

44-year-old driver bus Rakhmatshokh Kurbonov was detained. And the police study shots from video cameras. The task of investigators is to establish what caused a car accident: a driver’s mistakes or a bus failure. But Kurbonov has 5 fines for the last year of work.
But the representative of Taxi LLC told reporters that the bus that fell into the sink was working. On May 7, he passed the planned maintenance. And before going to the line, the necessary technical inspection was held. The driver, as the company assures, was undergoing a medical examination before going to the flight.
But still, the number of arbitration affairs and the debts of the company cannot but surprise: this is 143 production!

And it became known about another criminal case under the article “The provision of services that do not meet security requirements.” In the framework of this case, the head of the Taxi motorcade was detained.
The TFR has already stated that the company was violated by security standards. They say that the company “pushed” buses before going to flights – to whom and where to go.

The head of the motorcade was to monitor compliance with labor and transport discipline, including monitoring the work and rest regime of drivers.
According to the investigation, the driver of Kurbonov did not rest for several days.
AND Smolny may terminate the contract with the bus carrier after an emergency at the Moika. The Transport Committee of St. Petersburg and the St. Petersburg State Pedagogical University “Transport Organizer” will be checked by the carrier of the carrier LLC “Taxi”.
The vice-governor Kirill Polyakov instructed such an audit, since claims to the work of the company arose before the accident. From the very beginning, there was fears that the carrier would not pull, he had personnel problems and maintenance problems, and passengers often received complaints.
It remains to add that, in order to complete and comprehensive investigation of the tragedy, the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to transfer the criminal case from the police to the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of St. Petersburg.
