“I do not consider myself informed so as to draw conclusions and make judgments about the criminal prosecution of scientists in general, which has become a modern trend. After all, each has its own story with its consequences. At the same time, I can say about the real harm and damage of the country’s security, which entailed the arrests of A. Gubanov and me. Moreover, after his arrest, I worked for another 4 months and could even make sure of its consequences. And after my arrest, which meant the possibility of “closing” even a scientist who had been engaged in fundamental academic research all his life and had nothing to do with the state. Secret, the situation went “in buildup”, as the facts that reach me testify.
1. At all levels, the need to take care of maintaining the continuity of scientific schools in order to ensure the implementation of breakthrough scientific research, including those of defense significance not only at the present time, but also in the future. However, “cases against leading scientists” not only “decapit” these schools, but also lead to a real outflow of young, but already qualified specialists who also do not want to be behind bars. So there can no longer be talking about any continuity of scientific schools.
2. More and more researchers refuse to perform work on international contracts, looking at our sad experience and landing other scientists with Gubanov.

For years, the established mechanism for the preparation of new generations of students in universities is interrupted by the very persecuted leading scientists, the process of transferring their practical experience to them. For example, I taught 40 years at the IFTI, prepared more than 2 thousand students who are now writing letters of appreciation in aerodynamics.
