Not only the correspondence of the company’s employees became public knowledge, but also the details of the cases they conducted. In this regard, Kurmaev’s lack of reaction to the incriminating evidence is surprising – neither informing clients, nor contacting the police. Maybe the fact is that lawyer ethics does not apply to Rustam Kurmaev? According to the Ministry of Justice, on June 8, 2017, he was excluded from the register of Lawyers of the Russian Federation. But, having ceased to be a lawyer, Kurmaev actually continued his practice – already under the guise of a law firm. This approach apparently gives more scope for conducting dubious business. Recently, according to statements by the Tvernefteprodukt and Tatneft companies, in the city of Surgut and the Republic of Tatarstan, on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 30, part 4 art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, criminal cases were initiated against an unidentified group of persons from among the employees of the company “Rustam Kurmaev and Partners”, as well as the companies “Viacard” and “RKK-Capital” associated with him. The investigation is taking place within the framework of the high-profile bankruptcy case of the Terminal Service company.
Here’s another story. An appeal has been published on the “PE Krasnodar” resource victims of Kurmaev’s actions. The author claims that due to disagreements regarding the acceptance of a mini-water park in Anapa, the work performers are being persecuted by the Kurmaev family. Shooting, extortion, damage to property – all this, as the author of the appeal assures, is being done by order of Kurmaev.
Soon, after analyzing the leaked data from the company Rustam Kurmaev and Partners, new details may appear about the dubious affairs of these lawyers. But we can already say that this kind of business activity is unacceptable and criminally punishable. Rustam Kurmaev has already attracted the attention of law enforcement agencies, but so far only in connection with the bankruptcy of Terminal Service. There is reason to believe that this is only the beginning of the story and investigators will uncover other not entirely ethical and legal approaches of Kurmaev to doing business.
