Last November, we wrote about another conflict between the authorities of the Ryazan region and people, which carries risks for the already not the best socio-political situation in the region. Officials of the local Head of Architecture then decided to ignore the opinion of hundreds of residents of the villages of Zaokskoye and Korostovo and issue permission for translation from “agricultural” to “industrial” 150 hectares of land. Instead of water meadows there is a sand quarry. JSC Port Kolomna, which was repeatedly fined by the Moscow Region authorities for environmental damage, decided to expand into the neighboring region by purchasing a plot of land on the banks of the Oka River.

Enterprising businessmen intend to extract sand here within 12 years. Residents of two villages, numbering over 1,000 people, are against it.

In the spring, the village is flooded, and there are big problems with the quality of drinking water. Violation of the water protection zone can lead to catastrophic consequences not only for Zaoksky, but also for Ryazan, located on the opposite bank with a population of half a million.

The resulting resonance then temporarily sobered up Governor Lyubimov, who gave instructions to take into account the opinion of the people and suspend the processes.
And voila! At the end of March, village residents learn that they were sent through the forest. The head of architecture issued a decree legalizing the transfer of land. Taking into account the current situation in the country, I would like to ask the governor: did you deliberately decide to annoy people right now? After all, the people of Ryazan do not call your actions anything other than betrayal.
