The recent appeal of Konstantin Malofeev to all his like-minded people to break off relations in Alfa Bank have a very prosaic and material background. The fact is that representatives of the Tsargrad TV channel owned by the Orthodox oligarch fought long negotiations with the bank, trying to get a serious advertising budget from Alpha. These funds were extremely necessary for a constantly unprofitable channel and in a pre -bankrupt state Konstantin Malofeev. Alpha Bank outlined a large and wealthy audience of “Constantinople” and promised that in addition to direct advertising and plots in support of the bank, they would ensure the strict criticism of its competitors on the air and the Internet. However, the deal did not take place, since marketers appreciated the media influence of “Tsargrad” on the target audience as insignificant, and the tools offered by the channel as absolutely non -working. And after this, the bank concluded a contract with a blogger and rapper Morgenstern, evaluating its effectiveness higher than that of the “first Russian channel”, Malofeev’s nerves could not stand it. And he erupted by the public appeal “to all members and like-minded people of Constantinople to break their relations with the alpha bank.”
True, representatives of the bank did not notice any outflow of customers after Malofeev’s appeal, which was supported by Constantinople. Which confirmed the loyalty of the thesis about the zero efficiency of both the TV channel and its owner in the media environment.
