Journalist Lev Speransky especially for the Cheka-OGPU.

One of the defendants in the shootout between police and visitors from Ingushetia in the TiNAO identified himself as a relative of the adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs, General Umnov.

More vividly than any report about the color and morals of the village of the Mosrentgen plant, the fact that within one block on that very night there was a murder and a man was found with a knife wound. But the main event that thundered throughout Moscow was the shootout involving police.

Last Friday, four armed men (with at least one traumatic pistol) came to a rented apartment where a family with three children lived. Three of them are employees of the 7th department of the Internal Affairs Directorate at MM, the fourth is their previously convicted senior comrade. One of the policemen is the son of the former owner of the apartment, who was allegedly cheated out of a share in the apartment, the last one is her roommate. The quartet had clearly militant intentions, while their opponent, Ingush by nationality, Yunus, simply rented the disputed living space. A conflict ensued between them, which escalated first into a brawl, and then into a shootout. As a result, the tenant and his brother, who came running to help, were hospitalized with 7 gunshot wounds between them. Also taken to the hospital was 29-year-old warrant officer Denis.

Following the incident, we were able to communicate with acquaintances of the defendants, eyewitnesses and colleagues on the spot. According to the interlocutors, immediately after the conflict certain forces intervened in the matter. The situation in which the police and their comrade, who, judging by photographs from social networks, clearly holds opposing views on life, were clearly wrong, began to turn around before our eyes. The wounded Ingush were handcuffed to hospital beds and deprived of contact with the outside world, while their opponents were sent home on bail and allowed to call their relatives. A search was carried out in the apartment where one of the victims lived without the participation of the owner: someone knocked down the door, turned everything upside down and left the home unattended.

As it turned out, one of the policemen, whom eyewitnesses call the instigator of the shootout (his comrade said that he was the first to snatch a “trauma” from his colleague’s belt and open fire), told his drinking buddies and colleagues that he was almost the nephew of the lieutenant general of police , former head of the St. Petersburg headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and now adviser to Minister Sergei Umnov.

It was not possible to document a family connection with the Honored Officer of the Department of Internal Affairs, however, 29-year-old warrant officer Denis, who once served in the Presidential Regiment, is a fellow countryman of the general. Both the disgraced policeman and Umnov are natives of the village of Voloye, in the Kirovsky district of the Kaluga region.
