Artem Uss escaped from house arrest in Italy a day after the Milan Court of Appeal gave the go-ahead for his extradition to the United States. On the afternoon of March 22, the Russian manager broke his electronic bracelet and left his apartment in Basiglio, a town in the southern part of the Lombard capital. The bracelet alarm went off at 2 p.m., when the carabinieri arrived on the scene and they had to call the fire brigade to break down the door. The TV was playing loudly in the apartment, but Uss was not inside. He escaped. Security camera images of the residential complex and nearby roads are currently being verified. It is likely that the 40-year-old man has already left Italy. He could have escaped on board a private flight from Linate. In Italy, they do not rule out that Russian special services were involved in the escape.
