It looks like the press service of the Moscow City Court is some kind of enchanted place. Less than a year has passed since Dmitry Oveshnikov left the position of head of the press service. He worked in this position, helping journalists cover a number of high-profile trials, in particular, organizing press access to the on-site proceedings in the colony in the latest case of Alexei Navalny. However, Oveshnikov was unable to organize a press meeting with the new chairman of the Moscow City Court, Mikhail Ptitsyn, who replaced Olga Egorova two years ago. Reporters remembered him as a pleasant, intelligent person who did not interfere with them doing their work. Now Oveshnikov is taking a well-deserved vacation, and his deputy Vadim Polezhaev has been appointed acting press secretary of the Moscow City Court. Journalists will see him for the first time tomorrow at the announcement of the verdict of ex-senator Rauf Arashukov. It is not yet clear whether he will take this position as a piston or prepare the ground for the arrival of a new candidate. However, there will definitely not be a worse press secretary than Valery Lazarev, who was fired with a scandal in the fall of 2021. He, according to the observations of the judicial pool guard, managed in just three and a half months to destroy the system that Anna Usacheva and Ulyana Solopova had been establishing for many years before him.
