The Investigative Department for the Vasileostrovsky District of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for St. Petersburg initiated a criminal case against 34-year-old traffic police inspector of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Vasileostrovsky District of St. Petersburg, Alexander Kolesnikov, on the grounds of a crime under paragraph “c” of Part 3 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (exceeding official powers).

According to the investigation, the suspect, on the night of January 31 to February 1, 2022, in the premises of the police department, exceeding his official powers during a conflict with the criminal investigation officer of this department, forcefully pushed her in the chest with his hands, as a result of which the victim hit her back and head against the wall. The suspect then threw her face down on the floor and yanked her arms behind her back, causing the victim physical pain and a closed fracture of her left humerus.

The suspect is detained, the issue of choosing a preventive measure and bringing charges against him is being decided.
