Inspectors from the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation arrived at correctional colony No. 2 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in Kalmykia. In addition to representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office, employees of the Central Office of the Federal Penitentiary Service also arrived in Elista. And the matter, apparently, will end with serious measures against not only prisoners, but also the leadership of the Kalmyk Federal Penitentiary Service, which has lost its sense of reality.

This was preceded by an attack by two Dagestani prisoners on the workers of Correctional Colony No. 2.

On August 5, convicts Magomed Atimagomedov and Daud Kuramagomedov, after an evening check, ran into the SUON (strict security) detachment. This attracted the attention of the video control operator, who called a reserve group, which eventually discovered the seriously wounded junior inspector of the colony security department A. Sangadzhiev and junior inspector of the same department V. Shevdeev. Both were found with their heads pierced. Later, guard Shevdeev died in intensive care.

As the relatives of 22 and 28-year-old prisoners from Dagestan stated, in this way they committed an act of revenge against the guards who had previously selectively exceeded their official authority in relation to Muslim prisoners.

Complaints and appeals to the relevant authorities were in vain, which is why the prisoners took such a radical step.
