He was both on a monthly salary from the management of the MonArch Group of Companies and received various kinds of positional and financial support from them. The owner of Monarch, Sergei Ambartsumyan, is a close friend of Lavrenev. When two posts for deputy heads of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Moscow Investigative Committee became vacant, Boris Lavrenev turned to his friend Oleg Menzhinsky, deputy head of the Department of M of the FSB of the Russian Federation. The meaning of the deal is that Menzhinsky, through his Service, is lobbying for the appointment of Lavrenev, and the Monarch Group of Companies is financing this process. As a result, Menzhinsky received property rights to apartments with a total value of about 100 million rubles, located in a residential complex, the construction of which was carried out by the MonArch Group of Companies. And Lavrenev received the position of deputy head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for Moscow.
