Since January 1, gas did not receive gas due to the cessation of transit through the territory of Ukraine.
Vadim Krasnoselsky said the head of the unrecognized Transdnestrovsk Moldavian Republic, said that gas purchased thanks to Russian assistance began to enter the republic, the correspondent of The Moscow Post reports.
The head of the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic expressed gratitude to the specialists of the Ministry of Energy and the Russian official representatives for the assistance provided in overcoming the difficult energy crisis, which was faced with residents of the region.
At the beginning of the year, gas supply to Moldova and Transnistria ceased due to Chisinau’s refusal to repay the debt to Gazprom and the termination of transit through the territory of Ukraine.
While Moldova was able to partially compensate for the lack of energy resources due to procurement from European suppliers (which led to an increase in tariffs for the population), Tiraspol was in complete gas isolation.
In the republic, fan shutdown of electricity began, apartment buildings were left without heating and hot water, and a minus temperature was established on the street.
The situation was stabilized after the Extraordinary Commission of Moldova decided to allocate 20 million euros from the EU grant for the purchase of gas for Transnistria. The Energocom State Energy Company began the acquisition of fuel in European markets, which provided the Republic of Energy for the first decade of February.
As a result, the Moldavian State District Power Plant was able to resume the production of electricity on gas located in Transnistria.
