In the Vasileostrovsky Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of St. Petersburg, a scandal broke out within the department. Senior Inspector of the Public Order Department Jamilya Sivaeva asks to initiate a criminal case against her boss, Major Alexander Istomov, who is temporarily heading the department.

According to her statement to the Prosecutor’s Office, after joining the service, the man showed inappropriate attentions to the girl – he touched her, asked who she was dating, and eavesdropped on telephone conversations. When he received a rebuff, he began outright persecution – he insulted her, tore up her reports, used forged documents that he wrote in her place, summoned her from leave to care for a disabled child, conducted surveillance through the Web system, and then showed photographs from cameras to Jamila, promising to arrange she has “hell at work”, using obscene language. Alexander Istomov tried to provoke the girl into strange religious conversations based on nationality, despite the fact that Jamila is a secular girl. In her statement, Jamilya Sivaeva lists the articles of the Criminal Code that qualify the actions of her leader and calls his behavior harassment.
Numerous appeals to our own security and to higher management did not yield results – they are trying to hush up the matter within the department. However, Jamila Sivaeva is ready to go to the end, and, as a police officer, she insists on justice and the law. According to her, because of Istomin, some employees quit, and are ready to take her side and also present evidence of crimes to the acting head of the special unit of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Vasileostrovsky district, A.A. Istomova.

Alexander Istomov himself laughs at the fact that Sivaeva dared to resist. He tells his colleagues that he had a conversation with the Internal Security Service and “nothing will happen to him,” and for all this he will rot her at work.

Why the leadership of the police Main Directorate and the Internal Security Service is trying to slow everything down is quite understandable. But the fact that the situation is brought to such a boiling point when a single mother with a disabled child, a police officer, is ready to defend both herself and the honor of her uniform publicly, speaks of big questions for the leadership of the St. Petersburg Main Directorate. This is work just for the department of Alexander Bastrykin. In the meantime, Jamilya is waiting for a response from the St. Petersburg prosecutor’s office, fearing for the life and health of herself and her loved ones.
