The regional operator EcoStroyResurs assures the authorities of the Samara region, and especially the governor, that the creation of sorting capacities is proceeding at an active pace. In reality, the landfills are run by homeless people, and what is presented as sorting is a fake. In fact, garbage lobbyists are carrying out the process of cementing the connection between the utility business and the government.
In just two fake sortings, the owners of EkoStroyResurs could have stolen at least 200 million rubles. And all this is happening under the patronage of the ultimate beneficiary of the garbage reform in the Samara region, deputy of the local legislative assembly Alexander Mileev. In the summer of 2021, signals were already sent to him, refusing to approve his candidacy for elections to the State Duma from United Russia. But, apparently, deputy Mileev did not understand the hints, and decided to further drown the party and the leadership of the Samara region in favor of his own interests.
Now law enforcement officers have to find out where these same 200 million rubles went, how the former director of the regional operator was appointed to the ministry as the curator of the reform, and much more. Note that 200 million rubles is not just money, it is funds collected from citizens, and which should have been invested in real infrastructure reform projects.
At the end of December 2021, an inspection of the regional operator has already begun. Its results are still unknown. But this experience will be of interest to security officials from other regions where garbage reform is also being implemented. But special interest will be shown by the feds.
