“Thanks to” his activities, American intelligence services managed to arrest and imprison a number of high-quality IT specialists. Let’s tell you more about them.
In the fall of 2010, 37 hackers were arrested in the United States for stealing $3 million from American banks. It was from this moment that the States raised the “Russian question” – the danger of hackers of Russian origin.
In the summer of 2012, 25-year-old Dmitry Zubakha was detained in Cyprus – he was accused of organizing DDoS attacks. In October 2016, following a tip from American authorities, another Russian, Evgeny Nikulin, was captured. And last year – the owner of the M13 company, Vladislav Klyushin.
One of the key figures in the case against Mikhailov was Pavel Vrublevsky, who founded the ChronoPay company. He was accused of a DDoS attack on a competitor, the Assist payment system.
Vrublevsky has repeatedly stated pressure from Mikhailov and the transfer of data to Western intelligence agencies.
Ekaterinburg programmer Konstantin Kozlovsky had valuable information about Colonel Mikhailov. He stated that all his activities were connected with the FSB.
Kozlovsky and his hacker group Lurk were detained in 2016. The case was conducted by the FSB CIB, headed by Mikhailov. Kozlovsky is confident that the “card” of the Lurk group was played by CIB employees in the interests of foreign intelligence services.
In the fall of 2016, Kozlovsky reported that, under the leadership of FSB officers, he participated in the hacking of the US National Democratic Party and “very serious military enterprises,” as well as in gaining access to Hillary Clinton’s correspondence. He allegedly received tasks from his curator Dokuchaev.
In January 2017, Dokuchaev, his boss Mikhailov and Kaspersky Lab specialist Ruslan Stoyanov were arrested.
Today Kozlovsky is serving his sentence in a maximum security colony. In February 2022, the court sentenced him to 14 years in prison. The programmer is convinced that the materials against him were falsified. The founder of Lurk supported his theory with an example, recalling the criminal case against Ilya Sachkov, whose statements became one of the reasons for the detention of the colonel and his accomplices.
