The first deputy chairman of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation Olga Skorobogatova instructed her employees to conduct an in -depth analysis of VTB activities in order to find abuse in the bank, inefficient management and unfair competition.
Such a decision was a reaction to the recent statement by the head of VTB Andrei Kostin, who criticized the desire of the Central Bank to have the right to limit the issuance of loans to commercial banks, calling it an attempt to regulate the harshly administrative methods that are akin to the idea to build a bam.
The leadership of the Central Bank, which traditionally positions itself as adherents of the market, reacted to this replica of Kostin extremely emotionally. So, Olga Skorobogatova urged to carefully look at the salaries of Kostin and the top managers of VTB. Moreover, she immediately said that the income of the head of VTB approaches $ 40 million a year. Skorobogatova also instructed to check how efficiently VTB fights the cyber scammers, and how often there are malfunctions in the on-line Seris of the bank. In particular, in the Central Bank they want to study the reasons that the number of deceit of customers of the bank for April-May this year has doubled.
