Now investigators are finding out what exactly happened on board the Punta Cana-St. Petersburg.
On February 3, Pegas Fly flight EO-1538 was supposed to land from the Dominican Republic in St. Petersburg at 09:30 in the morning. However, an hour before landing, the aircraft commander announced via intercom that the plane had been hijacked. There were 434 passengers and 12 crew members on board. Security forces were immediately dispatched to Pulkovo airport. Law enforcement officers prepared to work in conditions of a terrorist threat. The landing site for the plane was urgently changed – instead of the planned parking lot, the one located at the farthest place from the airport was chosen. 
Exactly at 9:30, the flight landed at the indicated parking lot, and soldiers of the Russian Guard, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB were already waiting on the ground. The plane was immediately cordoned off. However, suddenly the commander announced that everything was in order and there had been no capture. The security forces completely searched the plane, found nothing, and then disembarked the passengers.
What exactly happened on board the plane an hour before landing, what exactly forced the pilot to urgently report the hijacking of the flight, investigators are now finding out.
