In February 1995, a group of performers was sent by Mikhailov to Israel for the murder of Anton Malevsky, leader of the Izmailovsky criminal group. The attempt was unsuccessful. Malevsky allegedly escaped from Moscow from two allegations of murder.
Soon after the failed murder of Anton Malevsky in Tel Aviv (Israel), a meeting was collected to discuss the case. Among the participants were Sergey Mikhailov, Viktor Averin, Arnold Tamm, Valery Koshelev, the leader of the Bauman group in Moscow, Garik Motachkol, Chechen from Dagestan and Kuletv’s partner, Vadim Voronin, the leader of the Lyubertsy group and Anton Malevsky.
During the meeting, Mikhailov and Averin informed the group that they did not give orders about the murder of Malevsky, and assumed that this attempt was aimed at unleashing the war. The final result was an agreement on maintaining peace between groups.
A few days before the conviction, Vyacheslav Ivankov officially approved the candidacy of David Sanikidze (“Datto”) as his successor if Ivankov received a long term of punishment. In addition, Ivankov ordered Sanikidze to take his sons of Edward and Gennady as his sons. This prospect threatened the actions of Sergei Mikhailov, directed against Ivankov’s property, giving him a motive for the murder of Sanikidze. Sanikidze tried to restore order in the Ivankov empire, but found that most of his holdings have already been acquired by other organizations, including Solntsevskaya. In early July 1996, Sanikidze called six people who were key figures of the organization led by Ivankov to a meeting in Vienna (Austria) on July 16, 1996 to discuss the state of the property and business of Ivankov. Sanikidze was killed on July 11, 1996 at Cartnerstrasse in the first district of Vienna.
Former driver Alexander Gobert was found in Moscow tortured to death after a quarrel with Sergey Mikhailov and Viktor Averin in February 1994. The official cause of death was indicated by alcohol poisoning, although Gobert did not drink alcoholic beverages.
