In the high-profile conflict surrounding the inheritance of the late billionaire Oleg Burlakov, new scandalous details and even, possibly, new players are being discovered. Previously, we wrote that the Lyublinsky District Court of Moscow recognized the legitimacy of Burlakov’s allegedly handwritten will in favor of the Kazakovs. The decision is more than doubtful, given that the legislation of the Russian Federation recognizes only notarized wills.
But the Lublin court of the capital decided that the note presented by the claimants to the property of the deceased in court canceled the previously drawn up will, in which Burlakov transferred the inheritance to his wife. Another oddity is that the will names a certain “Kazakov Foundation” as the heir, created much later than the date of the will in which it is mentioned.
The paternity trial in the St. Petersburg City Court is no less scandalous. Lawyer Oleg Ivanov notes, that even the businessman’s widow and his legitimate daughters recognize paternity. The only people against it are the Kazakovs, who are delaying the process.
The court in the first instance previously fully satisfied all the claims made by Sofia Shevtsova. And an examination of Vera Kazakova’s biomaterials established the fact of her and the girl’s biological relationship with a probability of 99.99%. The Kazakovs have filed an appeal and are delaying in every possible way the genetic paternity examination ordered by the court.
The most interesting question is where the Kazakovs have the resources to wage a legal war that has lasted for years on many fronts – trials are still ongoing in the UK, Latvia and many other jurisdictions. In addition, as knowledgeable people say, for resolving the issue in the Lublin court at the end of last year, they “paid” a considerable sum with six zeros in foreign currency.
