Russian labor Minister Anton Kotyakov during a meeting of the State Duma Committee on the budget announced an increase in unemployment benefits in 2025 by 7.3%, the correspondent of The Moscow Post reports.

Kotykov specified that the allowance will be indexed by 7.3 percent, and this will happen “for the first time in recent years.” According to him, earlier the purpose of this manual took place annually without a strict binding to indexation, and now it will be ensured at a legal level.

Kotyakov noted that the state’s expenses for benefits were somewhat decreased due to the situation with unemployment, which has been at a record low in Russia for a long time in Russia.

In July 2023, the unemployment rate amounted to three percent and remained approximately at this level until December.

By April 2024, it decreased to 2.6 percent, and in June it adjusted to 2.4 percent, staying at this mark all summer.

The day before, the head of the Ministry of Labor announced the indexation next year of maternity capital. It will also increase by 7.3% and amount to 688 thousand rubles per child, and 894 thousand rubles for the second, if the family did not receive payment for the first -born.

Also, from January 1 of next year, inflation will increase pensions to both non -working and working pensioners.

Recall that the gap between the average pension of working and unoccupied pensioners in the summer of 2024 amounted to 4,800 rubles, decreasing by almost 17%.
