One of the first to arrest the “protagonist” – headquarters captain Dmitry Vonlyarsky.
The attackers were accused of the fact that in the summer of 1909 they compiled on behalf of the deceased Prince Oginsky the spiritual testament to which Dmitry Vonlyarsky left his entire fortune. The St. Petersburg District Court has already approved the fake will for execution, and the government Senate was ready to decide on the transfer of the title of Prince Oginsky Headquarters Captain Vonlyarsky.
But suddenly a cunning combination burst – a statement by the legal heirs of Bogdan Oginsky sounded. The production of the case in the Senate was stopped, and the imaginary heir to millions found himself in prison with all his accomplices.
Then the sword of justice ascended over the adoptive father of Vonlyarsky, Vladimir Mikhailovich Vonlyarsky. He was an officer of the Cavalry Guard Regiment, a participant in the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878. In 1900-1902 he tried to organize gold mining on Chukotka. Together with A. M. Bezobrazov and A. M. Abaz, he participated in the organization of concessions on the Yalu River, which became one of the main reasons for the Russian-Japanese war.
He was arrested and accused of leading the entire procedure for drawing up a false testament. However, Vonlyarsky-Otothten claimed that he believed his son, who assured: they say that Oginsky’s will really exists.
As a result, the jury announced the verdict: the hemorrd of the will was recognized as proven, and Vonlyarsky-son-guilty. They appealed to the court with a request to “plunge the fate of the defendant to the feet of his Imperial Majesty to mitigate the punishment.” Several defendants justified the jury, including the Vonlyarsky-father. Having heard the jury, the court sentenced all those accused to deprive the rights and return to the prison branches, including the headquarters captain of Vonlyarsky for two years. However, a month later he was pardoned by the sovereign.
