Immediately after the arrest of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Vyborg district of the Leningrad region, Roman Ilyin, which our colleagues from the editorial office of Lisa reported on November 13, the head of the police Main Directorate for St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region, Roman Plugin, immediately flew to Moscow. According to several interlocutors of the Cheka-OGPU in the St. Petersburg police, the very next day after the regional FSB department detained Ilyin on suspicion of receiving bribes from black lumberjacks, Plugin left St. Petersburg, and officially the Main Directorate announced that he was on leave until December 6, although such a vacation was not previously planned. It is also interesting that for now Plugin is being replaced not by the first deputy Dmitry Baranov, who is close to him, who arrived from Plugin from Moscow, but by the deputy for the Leningrad region, Viktor Borisenko, whom some of our interlocutors have long considered a candidate for Plugin’s place. The working version is that Baranov is on a business trip and will replace Borisenko next week, but it cannot be ruled out that he is now in Moscow with his boss. The casket opens simply – as the Cheka-OGPU has already said, Ilyin, arrested in Vyborg, is also a man from Plugin’s team, and his arrest is part of a complex party waged against the chief of police by the local FSB Directorate. According to competent sources, Plugin again rushed to his patrons in the capital, as he had already done a year ago, when the security officers attacked his department for the protection of illegal migration. Plugin’s fears can be understood – Vyborg, placed at a strategic point in the Leningrad region (smuggling, illegal logging, etc.), can tell a lot about the corruption system established in St. Petersburg by Plugin and his team. Fortunately, Ilyin himself, at the trial for choosing a preventive measure, accidentally (?) mentioned that he “called two generals.” You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to understand that we are talking about Roman Plugin and Dmitry Baranov, to whom Ilyin was directly subordinate, including in the implementation of shadow schemes. In this case, Ilyin’s slip of the tongue will be considered a sign to his patrons, who must now think about how to help him out before he begins to speak.
