Ilnaz Galyaviev, who opened the shooting of students and teachers of MBOU “Gymnasium No. 175” in the city of Kazan, was charged with crimes under Part 2 of Art. 105, part 1 of Art. 223.1, part 1 of Art. 222.1, part 2 of Art. 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (the murder and attempt on the murder of two or more persons, including minors committed in a generally hazardous way; the manufacture and storage of explosives and explosive devices; intentional destruction and damage to other people’s property).

It was established that Galyaviev, armed with a multi -ive -shooting hunting rifle, as well as the previously manufactured explosive device, on May 11, 2021 attacked teachers and students of the gymnasium. As a result of the shots he made and undermining the explosive device, 9 people died, of which 7 children. In total, more than 600 persons were recognized as victims, among whom there are minors.

According to the materials of the criminal case, the cause of tragic events was the desire of Galyaviev to imitate the actions of informal representatives of one of the destructive subcultures, the information about which he gleaned from the Internet, copying their behavior during the attack.

In accordance with the conclusion of a comprehensive psychological and psychiatric examination, Galyaviev is recognized as sane and subject to criminal liability.
