And while farmers complain of inflating the prices of fertilizers, the state of the Guryev family over the past year has increased from $ 5.1 billion to $ 6 billion. It will be useful to recall the history of the creation of “Fosagro”: the company appeared in 2001 on the basis of the chemical assets of Group Menatep Guryev. The holding went to the monopoly manufacturer of the apatite apatite concentrate, which is located in Murmansk. It was then that Andrei Guryev became a senator, and in 2003 the case of Yukos began. The General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation soon concluded that the Apatit state -owned company was privatized illegally: it was this story that became one of the episodes of the criminal case No. 1 against Mikhail Khodorkovsky and Platon Lebedev. As a result, the former colleague Guryev had to go in a hurry for the cordon, and Guryev himself received control of Fosagro.
Recently, Fosagro posted bonds of $ 500 million with a maturity of until 2025. Considering that two years ago the company already placed bonds for the same amount, it can be assumed that the company can act as a financial pyramid: to buy its old debts through a new placement. Former Fosagro manager Igor Svachev, who was successfully thrown with money and brought a criminal case against him, believes that Guryev simply sucks money from Fosagro at the expense of raised funds that must be given only after 5 years. And at the same time he is still looking for support in power.
In Great Britain, Guryev is brewing the next lawsuit. In London, they will consider the lawsuit of the co -founder of the Fosagro company Alexander Gorbachev to the main owner Andrei Guryev with a demand to recognize the right to 24.75% of the shares. The hearing in the case will begin in 2022. And the amount of Gorbachev’s claim is 160.5 billion rubles. According to Gorbachev, these shares were registered with Cypriot companies Guryev and Antoshin, who disposed of them as proxies of the plaintiff, and now they are trading on the London Exchange. But the court unexpectedly terminated the proceedings. In 2011, when the Fosagro company held an IPO on the London Stock Exchange, Alexander Gorbachev did not find himself in the list of shareholders of the company, estimated at $ 5.2 billion. The company has accumulated the problems of different taxes: in 2005, Apatit OJSC, which is part of Fosagro, was accused of non -payment of 5.1 billion rubles of taxes. There are environmental problems: in 2014, the Balakovo branch of Fosagro company dropped waste for 4 months without the permission of the government of the Saratov region. As a result, it was fined almost 30 million rubles. Now there was a very real threat that giant amounts can be awarded a deceived partner, which almost certainly would not affect both the cost of the company’s shares and dividend payments to shareholders.
In the light of future events, it is completely clear why Andrei Guryev is ready to sacrifice exports for the sake of the domestic market, which he recently announced. He called the reason for the growth of mineral fertilizers in Russia caused by a boom in agricultural production. But the truth may be criminal cases that threaten Guryev in the claims of Alexander Gorbachev and Igor Sychev.
