Guest workers from Asia fought en masse near Gazprom’s Lakhta Center.
Nearly 400 migrants were taken to St. Petersburg police stations after a mass brawl occurred at the foot of the 460-meter tower of the future Gazprom headquarters of the Lakhta Center business center. As the Cheka-OGPU learned, the massacre, which took place around 7 pm on June 3, began in the canteen on the territory of the Lakhta Center construction site, and then moved to the street. According to police, at least 30 people took part in the fight, although eyewitnesses of the events report a much larger number of migrants fighting. In this case, not only fists were used, but also pieces of reinforcement, stones and construction masks. As a result, one native of Kyrgyzstan was taken to the hospital. After carrying out preventive measures, during which the police and the National Guard brought about 380 people to the station, four alleged organizers of the fight were identified. All of them are also natives of Kyrgyzstan and worked at the same construction site. The organizers of the massacre were detained.
It is interesting that the first police squad that arrived at the scene of the incident was not responding to a report of a mass brawl, but to a report of the discovery of an ownerless UAV near the Lakhta Center. It seems that residents of the densely populated Primorsky district of St. Petersburg will no longer be surprised by fights at Gazprom’s giant construction site.
