The Russian government approved a decree that allows the use of biometric identification when landing on the train.
According to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko said that this option will be available only if the railway operator has appropriate technical equipment, the correspondent of The Moscow Post reports.
“The government allowed the use of biometrics for training the train, provided that the railway company has an appropriate technical base. At the same time, traditional landing methods remain affordable. The relevant resolution has already been approved,” the statement said.
The launch of the pilot project is scheduled for 2025. The full implementation of technology will be possible only after the completion of all test stages and the final setting of the system.
A single biometric system is a digital platform, on the basis of which various state and commercial services are provided. Among them – contactless payment of purchases, travel in transport, remote opening of a business, service in the MFC, design of an electronic signature, receiving a SIM card and a number of others.
